Ruby can't look back. Fractured by an unbearable loss, she and the kids who survived the government's attack on Los Angeles travel north to regroup. Only Ruby can keep their highly dangerous prisoner in check. But with Clancy Gray, there's no guarantee you're fully in control, and everything comes with a price.

When the Children's League disbands, Ruby rises up as a leader and forms an unlikely allegiance with Liam's brother, Cole, who has a volatile secret of his own. There are still thousands of other Psi kids suffering in government "rehabilitation camps" all over the country. Freeing them--revealing the governments unspeakable abuses in the process--is the mission Ruby has claimed since her own escape from Thurmond, the worst camp in the country.

But not everyone is supportive of the plan Ruby and Cole craft to free the camps. As tensions rise, competing ideals threaten the mission to uncover the cause of IANN, the disease that killed most of America's children and left Ruby and others with powers the government will kill to keep contained. With the fate of a generation in their hands, there is no room for error. One wrong move could be the spark that sets the world on fire.

And if you're impatient for next week.... why not satisfy that craving with Sparks Rise?

This New eBook Novella connects the last two novels in The Darkest Minds trilogy.

Sam didn't think things could get worse at Thurmand rehabilitation camp. Then the Reds arrive. Everyone assumed the kids with firepower had been killed years ago. Instead they were taken away, brainwashed, and returned as terrifyingly effective guards. To her horror, Sam recognizes one of them: Lucas, the one spark of light in Sam's dark childhood.

Lucas has a deadly secret--he beat the brutal training that turned his fellow Reds into mindless drones. When Sam defends herself against an attack by a vile PSF guard and faces a harrowing punishment, Lucas must risk his everything to save her.

  1. What interests me about these books is the ratings and reviews I've seen. I feel like everyone--at least all the people I know--love these books! When book 1 came out I wanted to read it but got too busy with school and was still busy when book 2 came out. Now book 3 comes out on my birthday and I'm telling myself that that is fate & I have to read them now! (Plus I actually do have book 1, just haven't been able to start it yet.) Thanks for the giveaway!:D

  2. Aw, thanks for including me in your post, love! *heart eyes* I loooove this series! I haven't finished Never Fade yet, but I put it on hold after the first chapter because.. well, there's something there that happens to make my heart go boom boom bow and I know that I won't rest until I've read In the Afterlight so I'm waiting for it to arrive (the "pub made it available" letter came today! WHOOOP. Not much longer :')) also, I'm so glad you're reading it, Christina! this makes me so so so happy. I hope you love it half as much as I did, then you're good to go ;) Oh, and I wasn't aware that there was another novella (that's already been published?? whaaaat??) so thanks for informing moi :P I'm super pumped to see how it all ends and btw, that's my fav book trailer ever! I love it so much! <33

  3. I've only read the first book in this series, but what interested me most were the characters. While there's definitely tons of action, I really loved the characters.

  8. have read a lot of amazing reviews of these novels, and one especially glowing review from someone that I really trust. The concept behind the novel and the special abilities of the characters have me really intrigued. I can't wait to read this series!

  9. The characters. It's all about the characters. They are so real, so vibrant. I don't think anyone could help being drawn into their story.

  10. I've already read the first two books and loved them both. I love the world and the characters and I'm really excited to see what happens in ITA.

  11. The first two books were amazing... Bracken always leaves me wanting more. I love it!!

  12. I really enjoyed The Darkest Minds because of Bracken's great
characterization. I absolutely love Chubs, Ruby and Lee. That's so
unusual for me to like so many characters in one series but I love these
guys. They feel so real to me and they're what kept me reading the
story. When the plot didn't suck me in, these characters took me by the
hand and I didn't want to let go. I can't wait to spend more time with
them as I continue the rest of the series.

  13. Why I want to read these books is pretty much summed up in your intro paragraph: EVERYONE I KNOW IS TALKING ABOUT THESE BOOKS. And they're saying all the great things about them! I just hear these books are excellent and I am really intrigued by the Psi groups. I want to know more about what they are and how they function in the story. Anything that sorts people into categories is always fascinating to me! Thanks for the giveaway!! :)

  15. I've read some really amazing reviews from some of my favorite bloggers who said their reviews didn't do justice to the books. Those are the kinds of books I get excited about!! I don't know how I've missed out on these books for so long but I'm pretty anxious to start reading!! :)

  16. <3 I hope In the Afterlight meets your expectations. And yes there is an e-novella! Did you just get it? :D :D huzzah for more books and an awesome book trailer and your review and this series and your enthusiasm!!

The series is definitely a must read.
